wonder what the Brethren of yesteryear would think about computers, the
Internet and the World Wide Web, I should imagine that had they the
technology at their disposal, they would have used it to the best of their abilities. The resulting structures would
have been even more breath-taking.2007/2008 marks my fourth term as Right Worshipful Master at Melrose and it is a pleasure and a privilege to be in the chair once again. We have a great team of Office Bearers and we always try to promote our Lodge as well as Freemasonry in general as best we can. I hope you will enjoy your visit to our site. Should you ever have the opportunity to visit our Lodge in person, you may be assured of a very warm welcome.

| Provincial Grand Lodge Annual Sponsored Walk. The annual sponsored walk
of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Roxburgh, Peebles and Selkirk Shires
will be hosted this year by the Lodge of Melrose St John No
1² in aid of The Borders Youth Support Scheme which is a
very worthwhile cause supporting youngsters in the Borders. The
walk, which will be on the 26 April 2008,
will start at the Lodge at 11am.
There will be a choice of routes to suit everyones ability.
Refreshments will be made available on return to the Lodge.

2007 Installation.
Bro. Bill Field PM was
installed as our RWM for his fourth time on 27 December 2007.
The
well attended meeting started at 4pm in the Corn Exchange
followed by the
traditional "Masons
Walk"
to Melrose Abbey, led on this occasion by our guest Tyler Bro. John
Martin PM Lodge Randolf No. 776 who is also an Honorary Member of
our Lodge. Bro John Kirkaldy PM (Elgin's Lodge at Leven No. 91
& Honorary Member of our Lodge) gave the oration at the Abbey.
Dinner was served afterwards at the George and Abbotsford
